The College of Information and Computer Science houses two divisions: the Palmer School of Library and Information Science and the Department of Computer Science/Management Engineering. The College of Information and Computer Science, one of the top 15 information schools in the country, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science, library and information science, information management and technology, information systems, and management engineering. The College also offers the highly respected Ph.D. in Information Studies and is home to three institutes that focus on the burgeoning needs in the fields of information and computer science: Information Innovation Institute, Institute for Advanced Technology in Systems Interoperability, and the Palmer Institute for Public Library Organization and Management.

The Palmer School of Library and Information Science offers graduate programs in:

  • Library and Information Science (M.S.)
  • Rare Books and Special Collections (Concentration)
  • Archives and Records Management (Advanced Certificate)
  • Public Library Administration (Advanced Certificate)
  • Preparation for New York State Certification as a School Library Media Specialist

The Department of Computer Science/Management offers undergraduate degrees in:

  • Computer Science (B.S.)
  • Information Management and Technology (B.S.)

The Department of Computer Science/Management Engineering offers graduate programs in:

  • Information Technology Education (M.S.)
  • Information Systems (M.S.)
  • Management Engineering (M.S.)

Exceptional Facilities
The College of Information and Computer Science provides state-of-the-art facilities, including computer laboratories, a 2.3 million volume library and extensive electronic databases. Up-to-date hardware and software ensure you will learn by using the latest technology in the industry. Courses leading to the Master's degree in Library and Information Science are offered at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville and at New York University's Bobst Library in Manhattan, with selected courses offered at Long Island University's Westchester Graduate Campus in Purchase, N.Y. and Long Island University's Brentwood Campus in Brentwood, N.Y. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in computer science, information systems and management engineering are offered at the C.W. Post Campus. The Information Studies Doctoral Program and Advanced Certificate programs in Archives and Records Management and Public Library Administration are available at the C.W. Post Campus in Brookville.
