Applicants for the Doctoral program in Information Studies must request a special application packet directly from the Palmer School at palmer@liu.edu. This packet outlines the application requirements. There is a February 15 deadline for the Doctoral program; Fall admission only.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences 2 letters required for all programs.
(Psy.D. program requires 3 letters)

General GRE required for Psychology (MA) and Biology

General and Subject GRE required for Clinical Psychology(Psy.D.)

Applied Behavior Analysis admits for Fall only
College of Management

2 letters for all programs

Except Social Work which requires 3

GMAT required for all MBA and Accounting programs.
All MBA applicants must submit a resumé and a one page essay describing "How the MBA will enhance my professional growth."
All MSW applicants must submit a resumé and a separate MSW Program Supplemental Application which will be provided upon receipt of the online general Admission Application or by mail with the Admission Application packet. Fall admission only. March 15th application deadline.
School of Education

2 letters required for Counseling (School Counselor and Mental Health Counseling).

3 letters required for Speech Pathology.

2 letters required for School District Business Leader, School District Leader, School Building Leader (AC and MSED)

Two letters required for all adolescence education & Art Education

None required for all other programs.

GRE required for Counseling applicants with GPA below 3.0. Minimum score for admission is 4.5 on the Analytical Writing Section.

GRE required for all Speech-Pathology applicants

GRE required for Music Education with GPA below 3.0

All Counseling applicants must have a departmental interview.
Application deadlines for the Counseling programs are as follows:
     Fall - August 20
     Spring - January 10
     Summer - April 30
Copy of NYS Provisional/Initial Certification required for the Literacy, Special Education and School Building Leader (MSED) program.
Copy of NYS Permanent/Professional Certification required for the School District Leader and School Building Leader (AC) programs.
All applicants for School Building Leader (AC and MSED) and School District Leader must submit a resumé.
Speech-Pathology applicants must submit a resumé. Fall admissions only. Applications and all supporting documentation must be received by February 1.
Department interview is required for Educational Technology.
Academic writing sample is required for English Education.
Music Education majors must submit a resumé and have an interview/audition, which will include competency tests in music history and theory.
School of Health Professions and Nursing 2 letters for all programs ( 3 required for Dietetic Internship and Cardio Vascular Perfusion) None required
Nursing applicants must have a department interview
Dietetic Internship deadline is February 15 and applicants must fill out an additional departmental application
Cardiovascular Perfusion applicants must be admitted to North Shore University Hospital Program first. Contact NSUH at 516-562-1399
School of Visual and Performing Arts 2 letters required for Art Therapy, Fine Arts & Design (MFA), Theatre, and Interactive Multimedia Arts, Music and Music Education

International applicants for Theatre must submit TOEFL and TSE (Test of Spoken English) Scores or Internet-Based TOEFL.

GRE required for Music & Music Education with GPA below 3.0

All Art programs require a portfolio review. Portfolios should be submitted directly to the Art Department
The MFA program in Fine Arts and Design admits for the Fall only and has a March 15 deadline
The MA program in Interactive Multimedia admits for the Fall only and has an May 30 deadline
The Theatre program requires an audition/interview
The Art Therapy program requires a personal interview, or portfolio.
Music and Music Education applicants must submit a resumé and have a personal interview/audition, which will include competency tests in music history and theory.
Note: Occassionally there are changes in the Admissions requirements. If any additional documentation is required for your specific program, you will be notified by the Office of Graduate Admissions upon receipt of your application.
