The Manzione Family

In 1968, James V. Manzione Sr. began working at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University as a carpenter. His employment at Post, which spanned more than 16 years, began a family association with the Campus and the University filled with extraordinary personal and professional achievement. He and his wife, Nancy, who has for 24 years worked in the Office of Personnel and Labor Relations at University Center, saw seven of their eight children — four doctors, two attorneys, one dentist and a chemical engineer — graduate from C.W. Post. Mrs. Manzione and her late husband were grateful for the quality education that their children received. “As a result of fine teaching and guidance, our children were accepted into excellent medical, dental, law and engineering programs.” she acknowledges. The University in turn is grateful for the years of dedicated service she and her husband have provided. Their children illustrate the true meaning of access to the American dream through excellence in higher education.
