Honorees-
Theresa Mall & Thomas Mullarkey
 Theresa
(Tess) Mall Mullarkey and her late husband, Thomas F.X. Mullarkey,
were united in more than love and family. They were united in their
commitment to education and community. They devoted much of their
lives to helping others attain a quality education. Both served
as trustees of Long Island University and supported their local
library in Locust Valley, their church and the Grenville Baker Boys
and Girls Club all while raising three sons, Robert, Roger and Thomas
Jr.
A partner in the investment-banking firm of Lazard Freres &
Co., Mr. Mullarkey also was a member of the board of trustees at
Fordham University, his alma mater. Mrs. Mullarkey continues to
serve as both a trustee of Long Island University and of her alma
mater, Wellesley College. Her diverse career has included work as
a model with the Ford Modeling Agency, appearing in Glamour and
Mademoiselle magazines and on the cover of Harpers Bazaar.
Later, she went on to launch her own financial planning firm, Mall
Associates. Today, she serves as Chancellor of the C.W. Post Campus,
raising tens of thousands of dollars for student scholarships and
for the construction and restoration of campus buildings. She credits
the memory of her husbands commitment to Long Island University
for spurring her own determination to further the Universitys
mission.
