Frank Castagna
 Frank
Castagna is celebrating his fiftieth anniversary in the development
and management of real estate properties. His company, Castagna
Realty, celebrating its 80th year, was founded by his father Ferdinand
Castagna. The Castagna Companies has developed over 150 public buildings
and complexes on Long Island, in the metropolitan area and New England,
helping to shape the communities it has touched. Mr. Castagnas
commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Nassau County resulted
in a 20-year plus association with Long Island University. For nine
years, he served as chairman of the Council of Overseers for the
Rose and Gilbert Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, collaborating
with the Tilles family to fulfill the vision of a great cultural
arts center on Long Island. Today, he continues this work as chairman
emeritus of the Council. His companys flagship property, Americana
Manhasset, has been the exclusive corporate sponsor of the Centers
annual subscription campaign since 1987. Among his other philanthropic
ventures, Mr. Castagna is the president of the board of trustees
of the Nassau County Museum of Art and serves on the board of directors
of both Old Westbury Gardens and the Anti Defamation League.
A graduate of Widener University, Mr. Castagna holds a B.S. in
civil engineering and received an honorary doctorate from Long Island
University in 1994. He and his wife, Rita, share a lifelong dedication
to their community and have devoted much of their time and energy
to supporting such programs. The Castagnas have a son, Fred, and
a daughter, Catherine, a graduate of Wheaton College. Rita and Catherine
are both active partners in the operation of their companies and
the oversight of their work with numerous charities.
