Edward Travaglianti
 A
32-year veteran of the New York metropolitan area commercial banking
industry, Edward Travaglianti has spent the majority of his professional
career at European American Bank. Joining this financial powerhouse
in 1974, he became a rising star, serving as a senior vice president
from 1985-1987 and as executive vice president from 1987-1991. In
1991, he became president and COO, before being appointed chairman
and CEO in 1995. EAB was acquired by Citibank in 2001, at which
time, Mr. Travaglianti was named president of the newly formed Commercial
Markets Group of Citibank, N.A., overseeing Citibanks Middle
Market and Small Business activities nationwide.
Mr. Travaglianti is the chancellor of Long Island Universitys
Brooklyn Campus in addition to being an active member of the Universitys
board of trustees, which he joined in 1992. He has served on the
Audit, Budget and Finance, Compensation, Conflict of Interest, Development,
Executive, Honorary Degree, Nominating, Planning and University
Relations committees. In 1994, he championed EABs contribution
of funds to name the clock tower of the Zeckendorf Health Sciences
Center on the Brooklyn Campus.
In 2001, EAB pledged $500,000 to support the Campaign for Long
Island University for the performing arts center at the Brooklyn
Campus.
Mr. Travaglianti is active across a broad spectrum of community
organizations and institutions. He serves as vice chairman of the
board of trustees of Winthrop-University Hospital and as a member
of the board of directors of The New York City Partnership. In addition,
he is a consulting director of KeySpan Energy Corporation; a member
of the board of directors of Pall Corporation; chairman of the board
of directors of the Long Island Association; chairman of the board
of the Long Island Works Coalition; chairman of Project Long Island;
a founding member of the board of directors of Cop-Shot; and a board
member of the Long Island Philharmonic.
Mr. Travaglianti earned his undergraduate degree in economics from
St. Francis College in 1970, completing subsequent graduate study
in corporate finance and banking at New York Universitys Stern
Graduate School of Business. He resides in Lloyd Harbor with his
wife, Patricia. The couple has two children.
