Honoree-
Bob Brier
 Bob
Briers love of all things Egyptian began quite by accident.
He was laid up with a basketball injury while studying for his Ph.D.
in philosophy when a friend gave him Sir Allen Gardners Egyptian
Grammar to pass the time. For the past 31 years, he has combined
his work as a philosophy professor at the C.W. Post Campus with
pioneering research on mummies. A modern-day Indiana Jones, Dr.
Brier has scaled the great pyramids of Egypt, solved the mystery
of who killed King Tut, and was the first person in 2,000 years
to mummify a human cadaver using the exact techniques of the ancient
Egyptians. Recognized as one of the worlds foremost experts
on mummies, he recently uncovered the secret techniques used to
mummify Eva Peron, and is currently examining three Inca children
frozen in the Andes 500 years ago. He is the host of award-winning
television specials for The Learning Channel and has published several
scholarly books on mummies. Its no wonder his students call
him Mr. Mummy.
