The University belongs to the Educational and Institutional Buying Cooperative. This cooperative was created by purchasing directors for the purpose of obtaining greater discounts through volume purchases. There are many contracts covered by this cooperative including:

• Furniture
• Computers
• Printers
• Air Freight
• Scientific Supplies and Equipment
• Audio Visual Supplies and Equipment

Contracts may be national or regional. Often price discounts offered on these contracts are significantly better than we can obtain on our own due to the increased volume.

We may change the vendor on a purchase order requisition if the E & I contract is more beneficial; and will advise the department accordingly.
