Located on the Eastern Campus of Suffolk County Community College, Long Island University at Riverhead offers master's degrees in childhood education (grades 1-6), teaching children with disabilities (grades 1-6 and grades 7-12) and literacy education (grades 1 - 6), with certification in all three areas. With the addition of the highly desired Board Certified Behavior Analyst Course Sequence (BACB® approved), there are many graduate education opportunities for East End teachers and those seeking a professional career change. Two of Riverhead's most popular education degrees can now be completed more quickly, as the state Education Department has approved a reduction in the number of credits required to complete the M.S. in Literacy Education and the M.S. in Teaching Students with Disabilities to 31 from 37.

The Master of Science and Advanced Certificate in Homeland Security Management are the first programs of their kind registered with the New York State Education Department and among the first in the country. These fully online programs are taught by some of the nation's top security and law enforcement officials and are designed for public safety and private security professionals, as well as public officials and people with undergraduate degrees who are interested in homeland security careers.
