Curriculum and Instruction

Department of Curriculum and Instruction

The LIU Post Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers one of the most comprehensive teacher preparation programs in New York State. Nationally accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), the Department’s bachelor’s and master’s degree programs focus on the different stages of child development: infancy, pre-school, early childhood, childhood, middle and high school and teaching English to speakers of other languages. Students are mentored throughout their entire program by expert faculty who oversee their student-teaching assignments, portfolio development, peer- and self-evaluations, and leadership experiences. All teacher education programs lead to New York State teacher certification.
