Prerequisites: Prior certification in middle childhood and/or adolescence education

A passing score on the Content Specialty Test in Students with Disabilities will be required for certification. A passing score on the Content Specialty Test – Multi-subject 7-12 will be required as soon as it is developed.
Note: Students who have a concentration of 18 or more credits in English, social studies, math or science will be eligible to apply for an extension leading to a specialization teaching the subject of the concentration in special education programs.
Students will need to complete the 3-hour autism workshop in order to become certified in special education.
