Rockland Graduate Campus Awards Scholarships to Four Local Teachers

Orangeburg, NY – The Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University is pleased to announce the winners of four School Leaders Scholarships.
The scholarships will enable the teachers to participate in the School District Leaders Advanced Certificate program at the Rockland Graduate Campus at significantly reduced tuition. Each scholarship winner exemplified high academic achievements and received strong recommendations from leaders in the school districts in which they are employed.
The scholarships awards went to:
* Jenafer Medina of Elmwood Elementary School, East Ramapo School District
* Irene Schlanger of Liberty Elementary School, Nyack School District
* Janet Gaynor-Matonti of West Brook Middle School, Paramus School District
* Michelle Hicks of Cresskill Junior/Senior High School, Cresskill School District.
The teachers may begin the School District Leader program during the upcoming Fall semester.
Applications for the School Leaders Scholarships were sent to all local school district superintendents to enable the most qualified teachers in their district to apply.
The Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University offers many graduate level educational leadership programs, including a master of science in education (M.S.Ed.) in School Building Leader, as well as post-master's advanced certificates in School Building Leader, School District Leader, and School District Business Leader.
