Theme: Indian Spiritual Traditions and Globalization i
During the Fall semester, in addition to day trips and short field trips in and around Bangalore, the India Center Program includes a long field trip to Chennai, Auroville, Tiruvannamalai, and Tirupati, during which through informative sessions, guided tours to historical sites and monuments (Mahabalipuram), and visits to pilgrimage sites (Tiruvannamalai and Tirupati), students encounter aspects of tradition and modernity as they form the specific Indian ground for the contemporary processes of globalization.

Theme: Indian Spiritual Traditions and Globalization ii
During the Spring Semester, India Center organizes a long field trip to the Northern regions of India (New Delhi, Allahabad, or Varanasi) that continues the project initiated during the Fall semester and involves experience of and reflection on the confluence of past and present expressions of cultural identity and self-representation.
