What is an LIUCARD?
The LIUCARD is a multi-purpose card that can be used for several different purposes throughout Long Island University. The LIUCARD is both the campus ID card, meal card, library card and also holds your dollars. Everyone on campus carries an LIUCARD.
Where can I obtain my LIUCARD?
As long as you are enrolled in school for the current semester, a LIUCARD can be obtained from the ID Room in Public Safety.
What if I lose my LIUCARD?
Please go to the Bursar's Office and pay a $10 non-refundable fee to replace the lost card. Please then go to the ID Room in Public Safety to obtain a replacement card.
How can I find out the balance on my card?
How do I replenish my dining dollars balance?
The Bursar's Office accepts deposits by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Also, money can be added at the Automatic Deposit Machine located to the left of the information desk in Hillwood Commons.
What happens to the dining dollars that I have left in my account at the end of the school year?
Meal plan dining dollars will be transferred from Fall to Spring semesters only and are forfeited at the end of the school year. LIUCARD deposits made at the Automatic Deposit Machine or at the Bursar’s Office will be transferred from year to year. All LIUCARD deposits are non-refundable.
Who do I call if I have a question about my LIUCARD?

What do I do if something is stolen?
Please let your RA, SRA, or RHD know about the theft and also contact Public Safety immediately. Should an outside law enforcement agency be needed, the Department of Public Safety will assist you in contacting them to file a report.
What if I can't enter my residence hall?
First, please make sure that your bill was cleared at the Bursar's Office and that you are registered for full-time classes. Students who have not cleared their Bursar bill or who are not registered will not have access to their residence hall or meal plan. If you have Bursar clearance, please notify your RHD or go to the Office of Residence Life in order to report the problem with your ID.
How can I find out information about the off-campus shuttle service?
C.W. Post operates an on-campus shuttle service for students. The shuttle buses circulate the campus regularly, taking students around the perimeter of the campus and up to the South Campus area. A shuttle van to area malls, shops, and the Hicksville train station makes stops on a routine basis. Shuttle bus and van information is available on the Student Life and Leadership Development Web site or by contacting the Hillwood Commons Information Desk at 516-299-2611.
Are student cars allowed on campus?
All students, including freshmen may have cars on campus. Plenty of parking is available near the residence halls. Parking permits can be obtained from the Office of Public Safety. Please bring your driver's license, LIUCARD, and your vehicle’s registration when obtaining a permit.
