New Student Orientation
Welcome to our campus! Your educational journey begins at our New Student Orientation. LIU Post’s orientation sessions are specially designed for freshman, transfers, adult students (adults 25 and over) and international students. These mandatory sessions are held in August and early September for students enrolling for the Fall semester, and in January for those enrolling for the Spring semester. There is a mandatory orientation fee for all students.
Orientation is a great introduction to life at LIU Post. You will learn about campus facilities, resources, clubs and activities, health services, public safety, and so much more! You also can meet with an academic counselor to register for classes, obtain a parking sticker, tour the campus, and meet current LIU Post students. Students who are admitted to LIU Post will receive orientation information in the mail or via e-mail. Pre-registration is required. For more information click on the left-hand navigation for your student category.
Freshman Orientation

Freshman Orientation is designed for recent high school graduates who are just starting college or those students who have fewer than 24 college credits. In order to facilitate your transition into our University, all new students are required to attend one Freshman Orientation. The two-day session includes an overnight stay in our residence halls and plenty of opportunities to get to know your classmates and learn more about campus activities and services.
Transfer, Adult and Graduate Student Orientation

Transfer, Adult and Graduate Student Orientation is designed for students transferring to LIU Post with 24 credits or more from another accredited college or university, and for adult learners (25 years or older) pursuing bachelor’s degrees and for Graduate Students. You will have an opportunity to learn about student services, obtain your parking sticker and student ID card, meet student leaders and tour the Campus.
Parents and Family Orientation

Parents & Family Orientation is designed for parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, siblings, and any other interested family members of new LIU Post freshman and transfer students. You can learn about Campus resources and get a better understanding of the experiences your Post student will soon encounter at our Campus. You can meet our staff and faculty and find out how to become involved with the Post Parent and Family Connection.
International Student Orientation

International Student Orientation is designed for new undergraduate and graduate students from countries other than the United States with F-1 visa status. The three-day orientation program introduces you to LIU Post and addresses your specific needs as an international student. Orientation sessions cover immigration rules and benefits, health and medical insurance issues, and special services such as student activities, dining and entertainment. You will meet LIU Post students, faculty and staff and take a guided tour of the Campus. Our International Student Services staff will also accompany you on a boat cruise around Manhattan!
