A Message from the Provost to the Freshman Class

Paul ForestellDear Freshmen:

I am delighted to welcome you to LIU Post. As a campus built on innovation and creative-thinking, intellectual exchange and hands-on experience, you're joining a community where you can truly find out how good you really are. Our knowledgeable faculty, caring advisors, career counselors, coaches and administrative staff are all partners in your education. They will guide and support you as you engage in exciting academic pursuits and invigorating activity. Our student body hails from more than 50 countries and is enrolled in a vast selection of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees as well as an extensive continuing education.

We provide a high level of intellectual stimulation to those who know what they want to accomplish with their education, and cultivate self-discovery in those who have not yet found their path. LIU Post students are making scientific discoveries, debating controversial topics, performing on world stages, leading sustainable energy efforts, winning athletic championships, interning at top companies, and serving society through community service.

I encourage you to explore your world, find your calling, and discover your full potential with us at LIU Post. As we have since our founding more than a half a century ago, our faculty and staff are committed to supporting you in that effort.
