Convocation Invitation

TillesLIU Post will hold an academic convocation to welcome the Class of 2016 on Wednesday, September 19 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the main concert hall of Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. LIU President, Dr. David J. Steinberg, LIU Post Provost, Dr. Paul H. Forestell, a faculty member and an alumnus will offer remarks. The entire campus community is invited.

In accordance with traditional convocation ceremonies, we will begin and end the event with an academic procession and recession of deans, department chairs, faculty, assistant and associate provosts, the university president, provost, chancellor and the vice president for academic affairs. Faculty are asked to allow all classes to end at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19 in order for faculty, staff, and students to attend this important event, which begins promptly at 12:30 p.m. Faculty members are asked to encourage the attendance of their students. Attendance is mandatory for all freshman College 101 classes.

The convocation is being held for the entire LIU Post community. With that in mind, supervisors are encouraged to allow employees to participate in the convocation and the reception.
