Zumba

Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music – dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps.

Zumba Tone

Zumba toning will target the abs, thighs, arms, and other areas. Students will use lightweight. Dumb bells in this class, which will help to tone and strengthen all their target zones. Zumba toning will let you sculpt your body the way you’ve always wanted while having a great time.

Hatha Yoga

Tone your body, mind and spirit with our Hatha yoga class. This is perfect class for those who want to relax, reduce stress, and also build strength, flexibility, focus, and concentration. We will combine postures, breath work, and meditation techniques- giving you the tools to be the best you possible.

Yoga/Pilates

Explore how yoga and pilates compliment each other for a complete workout designed to strengthen your core to maximize the efficiency of every moment. This class will help tone your body, increase flexibility, circulation, abdominal strength, and improve your posture. You will leave felling refreshed, in touch with your breath, and strong.

Abs

Abs class focus is on building endurance/strength in the abdominals/back muscles and deep muscles of the pelvic core. Core strength is a necessity to prevent injury.   All levels are welcome… take a break when you need it.

Total Body

An intense conditioning and total body workout, utilizing weights, steps, balls, and more. Plenty of cardio and no muscles leaves untouched. No matter what age or fitness level you are, Brooke will show you how to maximize you flexibility and strength in this workout.

Total Body LITE

This class is designed for beginners to intermediate. 45 minutes in length, consists of cardiovascular training, machines and/or free weights to help strengthen and tone your muscles.  It is designed to challenge everyone at their own level.

Extreme Cardio

Extreme Cardio is a high-intensity cardio circuit class that is based in non-conventional and challenging conditioning drills.  The high-paced program will be designed so that participants have a fun, effective alternative to conventional cardio exercises.  Intensity spikes are balanced with intermittent rest and participants will be encouraged to take drills at their own pace to accommodate those of differing fitness levels.  This class allows people who may not normally experience this intensity of exercise to work out "outside of the box" in a fun, non-threatening environment.  The class would be ideal for those trying to lose weight and / or improve stamina and those who are looking for a fun way to incorporate exercise into their lives; this class challenges participants of all levels.

TRX Training

The TRX fitness class will be compromised of TRX suspension training and the benefits of your own bodyweight with a twist.  If you enjoy the fast paced nature of Zumba, the functional training of traditional weightlifting and high-intensity cardio the TRX inspired fitness class is the place for you. Utilizing circuits and timed exercises while incorporating strategic and beneficial bodyweight and cardio routines, this fitness class has it all. The TRX fitness class requires no prior knowledge of suspension training as it will be taught by our very informative staff of certified trainers. So whether you are looking to lose weight, get in shape or tone and sculpt your body into the one you've always dreamed of...

How to Sign Up for Group Exercise Classes:

  • All group exercise classes are free and are on a first come, first serve basis until the class’ capacity is reached.
  • Most classes are held in the Multipurpose Room in the Pratt Recreation Center.
  • If a class has been moved or cancelled, notices will be posted at the front desk of the Pratt Recreation Center and on the door of the Multipurpose room.
  • All participants must sign in as they enter to take the class.
  • Equipment that is needed for each class will be provided but must be wiped down completely before returned.
