Eligibility

If you'd like to become a Senator, here is what you have to do:

  • Attend three consecutive SGA General meetings
  • At each meeting, announce your name, say that you're interested in becoming a Senator, and state which meeting it is (ex: your first, second or third consecutive meeting). You announce this during the "New Business" part of the general meeting.
  • At your third consecutive meeting, you will be asked to stand in front of the general assembly and answer three to five questions about your interest in leadership, etc.
  • At you fourth meeting, we will announce whether you are voted in as a Senator.

Some of the responsibilities of Senators include:

  • Attending all Senators and General meetings
  • Participating in/coordinating SGA events
  • Voting on budgetary matters
  • Voting on club status
  • Becoming an active leader on campus by participating in different campus committees
  • Working toward improving campus life by completing three office hours per week
