Blood Drive
Give Blood
As the need for blood increases, the pool of donors has not. 60 percent of Americans are eligible blood donors but only 5 percent donate annually. Last year, blood donations to Long Island Blood Services increased by 12 percent, but that is not enough to keep up with demand. Your donation will help to save lives. Our community hospitals need your help. Please share this lifesaving gift!
Eligibility Criteria
• Bring ID with signature or photo.
• Minimum weight 110 lbs.
• Age 16 – 75 (16 year olds must have parental permission. Age 76 and over need doctor’s note)
• Eat well (low fat) & drink fluids
• No tattoos for past 12 months
Giving Gallons
All students who donate 8 pints of blood in their 4 years at LIU Post will be recognized during their senior year at the Student Affairs Leadership Banquet and will become a member of the Gallon Club.
