How to Apply
Admission to our Program is separate and distinct from admission to the University. Upon receipt of an acceptance letter from the Office of Admissions, prospective students should contact the Learning Support Center by phone at 516-299-3057 or by email at Post-LearningSupport@liu.edu to request an application for our Academic Resource Program.
Please be aware that LIU Post does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities in the admission process or in access to its programs. Prospective students can apply for admission at My LIU or by using the Apply Now button in the upper right-hand corner of this page. For more information on the application process, visit the Admissions Office home page.
The student must submit the completed Academic Resource Program application, together with the required essay, and a Diagnostic Evaluation conducted within the past three years. Upon our receipt of the completed application, essay, and required psychological-educational evaluations, we will contact eligible candidates to schedule a personal interview, which is an integral part of the admission to ARP process.
For Fall admission to the Academic Resource Program, the deadline for receipt of the application and required documentation is July 15. For Spring admission, the deadline is November 15.
Applying for Financial Assistance
Post’s experienced financial assistance counselors will work closely with accepted students and their families to insure that they receive the highest amount of aid possible. Financial aid is available in the form of scholarships, grants and loans. Please visit the Financial Assistance Office website or call 516-299-2338 to make an appointment with a Financial Aid representative.
Before classes begin in September, LIU Post holds orientation sessions for all incoming freshmen and transfer students. Academic Resource Program students are expected to attend one of these sessions. In addition, the Academic Resource Program conducts a separate ARP orientation for all freshmen and transfer students enrolled in the program on the afternoon of freshmen resident student move-in day. Please contact us at 516-299-3057 for more information about orientation.
