Timeline for High School Juniors and Seniors

Junior Year of High School

  • Take the SAT or ACT
  • Experience LIU Post at one of our many admissions events or schedule a tour of campus.
    - Attend the November Fall Open House at LIU Post
    - Post Preview Day
    - Freshman Information Sessions
    - Shadow a LIU Post student and register for our "Inside Post" program
    - Attend a College Affordability & Financial Aid Planning Seminar at LIU Post

Senior Year of High School

September

  • Apply online to LIU Post or send in your admissions application.
  • Retake the SAT or ACT if necessary. (Remember: Higher scores will result in higher academic scholarships to LIU Post.)
  • Schedule a tour
  • Prospective student-athletes should check with their guidance counselor regarding the NCAA Clearinghouse or visit https://web1.ncaa.org/eligibilitycenter/common/

November

  • Attend the November Fall Open House at LIU Post
  • Art Scholarship Portfolio Review Day

December

  • College Affordability & Financial Aid Planning Seminar
  • Music Department Audition Seminar

January

  • Attend College Affordability & Financial Aid Planning Seminar at LIU Post

February 1

  • Deadline for Academic, Sibling and Alumni Departmental Scholarships

March 1

  • All admissions material must be submitted online or postmarked by this date to be considered for academic scholarships
  • Deadline for FAFSA to be received and considered for LIU Post scholarships and grants as well as federal and New York state financial aid.

March

  • Art Portfolio Review Day

March/April

  • Financial aid award notices are mailed to admitted students
  • Financial Aid Calling Program commences to assist incoming students and parents with questions and information on payment plans.

April

  • Attend Admitted Students Day at LIU Post to meet students, faculty, deans, take mini classes and tour campus grounds

May 1

  • All tuition deposits must be submitted by this date to secure a place in the fall freshman class
  • All residence life must be submitted by this date for housing on campus

May/June

  • Priority Freshman Registration Programs

July and August

  • Attend New Student Orientation. Submit immunization forms.
