Gerontology
Graduates of the Long-Term Care Administration track within the Gerontology concentration of the M.S.W. program will meet most of the academic requirements for the Nursing Home Administrator’s Licensing Exam in New York State.
Nonprofit Management
Students who earn an M.S.W. with a concentration in Nonprofit Management will meet most of the academic requirements for Long Island University’s Advanced Certificate in Nonprofit Management.
Alcohol and Substance Abuse
Students who successfully complete the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Concentration will be prepared to meet the New York State Department of Education requirements for the Certificate in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC), a sought-after credential.
FORENSIC SOCIAL WORK
Students who choose the concentration in Forensic Social Work have the option of taking one additional course in order to qualify for a New York State Advanced Certificate in Forensic Social Work while earning their MSW degree.
