Mission Statement & Goals
In congruence with the stated mission of LIU Post, the Radiologic Technology Program provides a strong educational foundation in science and the liberal arts and comprehensive coursework in radiologic technology. Students receive the core knowledge for entry into professional practice as well as tools for lifelong learning. Through the synthesis of clinical and didactic experiences, students develop clinical competence, conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills for effective problem-solving.
We seek to prepare graduates who will have essential literacies including written and oral communication skills and be clinically competent professionals able to provide quality care to the community and other groups of interest.
Goal One - The student will integrate didactic and clinical coursework in order to practice as a competent entry level technologist.
Goal Two - The student will employ effective oral and written communication skills required for work as a practicing healthcare professional.
Goal Three - The student will develop a strong theoretical and clinical knowledge base and develop effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Goal Four - The student will systematically construct and demonstrate a strong knowledge base for professional growth and development.
Goal Five - The program will continually monitor its effectiveness and adapt to changes in the field.
