How to Become a Registered Dietitian

 

  1. Complete a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Complete a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and obtain a DPD Verification Statement.
  3. Apply to an accredited Dietetic Internship (DI) (the B.S. degree in Nutrition and DPD Verification Statement are requirements to apply for the DI).
  4. After completion of an accredited DI, the candidate successfully completes the national credentialing examination for Registered Dietitian (RD).
