The Department of Health Sciences hosts a state of the art digital video conference room to enhance distance learning opportunities.
The Health Information Management Program has access to the Virtual Lab offered through AHIMA. Faculty and students will have virtual access to a full array of health information management technologies, including but not limited to a Master Patient Index (MPI), an encoder, an abstracting system, an electronic document management system (EDMS), Deficiency analysis, chart tracking, and registration/ADT system.
The Medical Imaging Program features a modern radiographic laboratory with a fully functioning digital radiographic imaging unit. At a state-of-the-art computer workstation, students can perform multi-planar and 3-D reconstructions of Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations, and become familiar with the data manipulation techniques of digital filmless radiography.
The Health Sciences department supports innovative, academic research in the well-equipped research laboratory in Life Sciences/Pell Hall. Undergraduate students interested in pursuing research opportunities are encouraged to contact the Department of Health Sciences for more information.
