M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Management
The Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Management (CLM) provides students with the practical skills and credentials to manage clinical laboratories. The CLM program addresses four key areas of laboratory management: finance, operations, personnel and marketing.
Certification: Students who complete the M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Management and possess two years of full-time acceptable experience in clinical laboratory supervision or management within the last 10 years may apply for the Diplomate in Laboratory Management from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Applicants must be ASCP-certified and New York state-licensed clinical laboratory scientists (CLS), and employed in a clinical laboratory as a CLS.
About the Profession
Clinical Laboratory Manager are employable as supervisory personnel in a hospital clinical laboratory, reference laboratory, clinical pathology, physician's office laboratory, biotechnology or industrial research, public health laboratory, clinical diagnostic company or educational institution.
