Department of Biomedical Science
The Department of Biomedical Sciences offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees that prepare competent and knowledgeable professionals dedicated to the highest standards of science and health care.
The Department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Technology and Clinical Laboratory Science, Generalist (NAACLS* accredited).
Graduate programs include the M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences
in which qualified students will be eligible to take for the ASCP**certification exam
and acquire NY State licensure that is required for employment in a
clinical laboratory; the M.S. in Biomedical Sciences with specializations in Microbiology/Infectious Diseases, Medical & Molecular Immunology, Applied Laboratory Medicine (a combination of the former Hematology & Medical Chemistry concentrations), and Cancer Biology; and the M.S. in Cardiovascular Perfusion, which is accredited by CAAHEP in conjunction with the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York.
