J.D./M.P.A. in Health Care Administration
Dual Degree Program Offered by Touro Law Center and LIU Post
The dual J.D./M.P.A. in Health Care Administration prepares you for a variety of challenging careers in hospitals, clinics and health care agencies. The Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, offered by Touro Law Center in Central Islip, N.Y., provides extensive training in both fundamental legal theory and development of practical skills. The Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree, offered by the College of Management at LIU Post in Brookville, N.Y., ensures a strong grounding in the principles of health care administration. The dual degrees provide a comprehensive understanding of the interaction between the business and law fields.
The M.P.A. degree is accredited by NASPAA. The J.D. degree is accredited by the American Bar Association. The number of credits required is 112, and 12 credits from each program can be transferred to the other. The J.D. and M.P.A. degrees are awarded separately by their respective institutions upon the successful completion of requirements. Students must apply and be admitted to each institution separately.
