Saturday, April 21, 2018; 9:00-12:00 & 1:00 – 4:00 at LIU Post, Room TBA Emergent Practice of Clinical Social Workers with Youth Athletes Presenters:Sue Sugarman, LCSW, BCD & Rebecca Clark, PHD, CMPC, LCSW-R Clinical Social Workers working with athletes is an emerging new field in the Social Work profession. This workshop will provide an overview of Social Worker’s role in serving youth athletes. Participants will increase awareness, knowledge and skills of concepts, model theories, interventions and strategies for clinical social workers working with youth athletes, parents and coaches on both micro and macro levels. The workshop will utilize group discussions, role play, interactive activities and case students from the presenters’ experiences. 6 CEU’s, $120.

Saturday, May 19, 2018 9:00-12:00 & 1:00 -4:00 at LIU Post, Room TBA Building Leaders in the Interprofessional Health Care Environment Presenters:Heather Butts, JD, MPH, MA & Linda Vila, JD Participants will be introduced to the concept of leadership, with an emphasis on interprofessional leadership, and explore different leadership concepts and styles.They will examine the application of different models of leadership to leadership opportunities and dilemmas, assess their own leadership skills, explore power and influence, practice leadership strategies and map a personal leadership and learning journey. 6 CEU’s, $120.
