Description
Jay Kaplowitz has expertise in a wide range of communications disciplines ranging from media relations to research and from strategic communications to video production.
His specialty is communications research, and he served as the director of corporate research for 10 years at New York Telephone and NYNEX, predecessor companies of Verizon Communications. His research led to significant changes in branding and in corporate culture.
Kaplowitz developed and managed numerous programs for the companies, programs that were linked to major changes in operations and revenue generation.
After retiring from NYNEX, he created I*I*I Communications, providing numerous clients with information, interpretation and intelligence services. As President of I*I*I, he served as public relations director for several small telecommunications companies and provides strategic communications counsel for several charitable and educational institutions.

Professor Kaplowitz is working on a research primer for creative public relations practitioners entitled Practical Public Relations Research.
Honors/Awards
Professor Kaplowitz is the recipient of a Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America for the development and management of a program that helped New Yorkers adjust to One Plus Dialing.
He also won numerous awards for employee publications he edited.
