Description

Dr. Cohen is a former pre-school, kindergarten and literacy teacher. Her research interests are related to young children’s language development, play, literacy learning and early childhood environments. Her latest research aims to theorize the philosophy of Mikhail Bakhtin in the context of early childhood play and adult-child interactions. She is a founding member of the Play, Policy, Practice Interest Forum of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Currently, Dr. Cohen is involved with a University-school partnership with Wyandanch Union Free School District.
