Assistant Professor, Department of Health Sciences

A.A.S., Suffolk County Community CollegeM.S., M.B.A., Long Island UniversityB.S., B.A., Boston University

My undergraduate degrees from Boston University were in Biology, and Russian Language and Literature. After graduating from Long Island University – Brooklyn with an M.B.A. and an M.S. in Community Health; I worked for 20 years in IT for the financial services and direct marketing industries. I then changed gears and went back to school, getting a degree in Health Information from Suffolk County Community College in 2010. I spent the last two years running the Health IT federal grant program at Suffolk which offered 6 courses on-line to anyone with an IT or health care background. The goal of the program was to train workers for electronic health record (EHR) implementation since all health care providers that get reimbursement from the government (Medicare or Medicaid) must have an approved EHR by 2014. I am also a certified trainer for Allscripts EHRs.
