How far is LIU Post located from New York City?

LIU Post is only 30 miles East of New York City.

Does LIU Post offer meal plans?

LIU Post Dining Services offers a variety of menu options for our guests. Please read through our Catering Guide listed on our web site to review all the options for breakfast, lunch, dinners, cocktail receptions and breaks. There are several pre-priced packages an event coordinator can choose from, or depending on the group’s budget, a special menu can be set up with our Catering Staff. Campus meal plans are not offered for groups, however, any of the dining areas open during the groups stay can be used on a cash or credit card basis.

What are the largest meeting facilities that LIU Post has to offer?

LIU Post has a variety of meting facilities to accommodate small or large groups up to 3,000 people. The largest facility is the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts which has 2,200 seats, and the Pratt Recreation Center gymnasium which seats 3,000 people.

Is LIU Post’s campus handicapped accessible?

Yes, LIU Post is 100% program accessible to persons with disabilities.

Is there parking available on campus? Is it free? Do visitors need a permit?

There is ample free parking on LIU Post’s campus. Visitors do not need a permit to park.

Are the residence halls air conditioned? How much does the air conditioning cost?

Currently two residence halls are air conditioned, Brookville Hall and the South Residence Complex. These are the two halls we use for our summer conference groups. There is no fee for the use of air conditioning.

Are there outdoor or indoor recreation facilities available?

Yes, there are several outdoor recreation facilities available at LIU Post. There are tennis courts, and outdoor track, a sand volleyball court and basketball court. We also have an Arboretum Walk and a mosaic labyrinth which are popular places to visit. Our indoor facilities are located in the Pratt Recreation Center and arrangements can be made to utilize the swimming pool by our groups.

Are there stores or shopping in close proximity to the LIU Post Campus?

Yes, Wheatley Plaza is located approximately 4 miles west of the campus. There is a grocery store with a pharmacy and several other retail stores located in the shopping center as well as several other retail stores and restaurants in the general area.

How far in advance should conference dates be reserved?

Spaces book quickly on the campus, especially during the academic year. We suggest contacting our office as far in advance as possible to ensure securing the dates and spaces you would like as well as allowing ample time for the contract process. For overnight summer conferences, we suggest contacting our office at least one year in advance of your event dates.

Can I use my computer in the residence halls or other locations on campus?

Yes, ports are available in the residence halls. Ethernet cards and cords must be used to access the Internet (LIU Post cannot provide). If you wish to have wireless access and use your lap top in locations where WiFi is available, we can assist in making arrangements through our Information Technology Department to gain access to the campus wireless server.
