Pioneers Win Fourth-straight ECC Commissioner's Cup
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 26, 2016) - The LIU Post Department of Athletics has been awarded its fourth-consecutive East Coast Conference Commissioner's Cup, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.
The Pioneers, who won the ECC Commissioner's Cup for the seventh time since it was established in 1994, posted a conference record of 96-52-2 (.647 winning percentage) in ECC-sponsored sports in 2015-16.
LIU Post also competed in ECC Championships in 14 of the 16 league sports they sponsor, with three of its programs (men's soccer, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse) hoisting the postseason hardware.
The Pioneers amassed 88.5 points in the final standings, en route to capturing the ECC Commissioner's Cup. Roberts Wesleyan College was a close second with 86.5 points. Queens College and St. Thomas Aquinas College finished in a tie for third place, earning 76 points apiece. Molloy College rounded out the Cup's Top-5 with 70.25 points.
The East Coast Conference Commissioner's Cup is emblematic of the league's top program, across its 18 championship sports.
