Kwok Qualifies for 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials
EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (Jun. 21, 2016) - On Saturday, LIU Post women's swimming standout Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) started her Olympic quest, clocking a qualifying time for the United States Olympic Trials in the 100-meter butterfly at the Eisenhower Park Aquatic Center.
Kwok, a two-time NCAA Division II National Champion and four-time All-American in the 200-yard butterfly, swam a 1:01.15 in the 100-meter event, eclipsing the qualifying standard by four milliseconds.
"We are extremely proud of Joyce in her achievement," said Head Coach Michael Travers. "This is a culmination of four terrific years and a groundbreaking step in a start to her professional career."
In her four seasons as a Pioneer, Kwok raced to 21 All-America selections. She also currently holds seven school records (two individual, five relay) and one LIU Post pool record.
