LIU Post AthleticsShow your Post Pride at three exciting LIU Post athletic games this week:

• Softball East Super Regional vs. Caldwell, Friday, May 16, at 1 p.m., at the LIU Post Softball Complex
• Women’s Lacrosse Semifinal vs. Adelphi, Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m., in Salem, Va.
• Men’s Lacrosse Semifinal vs. Adelphi, Sunday, May 18, at 1 p.m., at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.

The top-seeded LIU Post softball team is headed to the NCAA East Super Regional after coming away with a marathon win against fifth-seeded Southern New Hampshire last weekend in West Haven, Conn. The Pioneers battled to a 7-6 victory in 13 innings, winning its first NCAA East Sub-Regional since 2011. Junior catcher Aly Dzierzynski has hit a school-record 24 home runs this year, and is just five away from breaking the NCAA mark for most home runs in a season. Next up, the Pioneers will take on second-seeded Caldwell in the East Super Regional, which will be hosted at LIU Post this weekend, in a best-of-three series.

The LIU Post men’s lacrosse team is coming off a very impressive win over the number three team in the country, Le Moyne. The Pioneers shut out the Dolphins in the second half of their quarterfinal match-up last Saturday in Syracuse, N.Y., en route to a 9-3 victory. LIU Post will take on Adelphi in Garden City, N.Y., this Saturday in an NCAA Division II National Semifinal. They’re looking to make their first national championship appearance since winning the title in 2010.

The LIU Post women’s lacrosse team is searching for its third-straight NCAA Division II National Championship. The Pioneers beat Adelphi last season, 7-6, in the same national semifinal game. Senior Jackie Sileo, a three-time East Coast Conference Player of the Year selection, currently leads the nation in assists (87), assists per game (4.58), and points (141). Back on April 2, Sileo made NCAA history, as she shattered the all-time career scoring mark. A four-goal, four-assist performance at Dowling raised her point total to a record amount of 505. This weekend, the team will take on Adelphi in an NCAA Division II Championship semifinal at Donald J. Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va.

LIU students can attend the softball games for free by showing student I.D.
