LIU Post Sets $25,000 Relay for Life Goal

LIU Post announced a $25,000 goal for its participation in the Relay for Life event that will begin on April 25, 2014, at 5 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. the following day. The event will feature a 12-hour overnight fundraising walk, where teams of community members will camp out on the Great Lawn and enjoy free food, entertainment, games, and activities. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Relay for Life is an event hosted by communities and groups around the country to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, as well as to spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and unite communities in the fight against cancer. All LIU faculty, staff, and students are encourage to participate.
Michael Berthel, associate director for the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development and one of the organizers of the event, said: “Relay for Life is sure to be a great event—in LIU Post-spirited style—and something the entire community will want to participate in. Even those who can’t attend are encouraged to set up a team and have their department fundraise to help reach the goal.”

2. Click "Sign Up"
3. Click "Start a Team"
4. Encourage your friends and colleagues to sign up and join your team by clicking "Join a Team"
5. Fundraise! Send emails to family and friends asking for donations, or be creative!
