LIU_Post_Best_Business_SchoolsLIU Post has earned a top ranking in Military Times magazine’s first-ever “Best for Vets: Business Schools” survey.

“Despite this being the survey’s first year, the participation rate was high,” noted George Altman, education and employment writer for the publication. ”So making the list is a notable achievement.”

LIU Post was rated 28th among 100 schools responding. LIU Brooklyn also appears on the list, ranking 43rd.

School rankings were based on response to a detailed, 60-question survey, which asked about academic policies, financial aid, academic and career support, and the average Graduate Management Admission Test scores of students.

LIU Post’s MBA is a comprehensive, integrated, 36-to-48 credit program, which combines the highest levels of academic rigor and real-world relevance. It is consistently ranked a Best Business School by Princeton Review.

The MBA program is also accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the world’s leading business school accrediting organization.

AACSB accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide; less than one third of American schools and 5 percent of international programs can claim this distinction.

LIU Post has had a proud and distinguished history of serving its nation’s military veterans and active duty service members since thousands of New Yorkers returned to civilian life after World War II and the Korean War. In fact LIU Post was in part established to serve former service members studying under the GI Bill.

Throughout the years LIU Post has remained steadfast in its commitment to our nation's veterans. Today, LIU Post maintains an Office of Veteran and Military Affairs and is a proud participant in such veteran related programs as the Yellow Ribbon Program, which covers costs of private college education beyond normal GI Bill benefits; VEAP (Veterans Educational Assistance Program), Montgomery GI Bill, Dependents Educational Assistance Reserve GI Bill, REAP (Reserve Educational Assistance Program, Troops To Teachers Program, Veterans Tuition Awards, Vocational Rehabilitation and Post 9-11 GI Bill.

Veterans may connect with fellow LIU Post student-veterans by joining Veterans and Students United, the newest club on campus.

This is not the first time LIU Post has been recognized for its high level of support for veterans. Citing its help with tuition costs, college credit for military training and on-campus services for veterans, LIU Post was listed in 2013 as a "Military Friendly School" in G.I. Jobs, a veteran-owned publication that serves former service members. This list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools which are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.

Long Island University's campuses in Brooklyn and Rockland were also named to that list. For information visit www.liu.edu/post/veterans.
