Brookville, N.Y. – AACSB International, the top business school accreditation agency, has renewed accreditation of LIU Post's undergraduate and graduate business degree programs, a distinction shared by only 5% of programs worldwide.
"It takes a great deal of self-evaluation and determination to earn and maintain AACSB accreditation," said Jerry Trapnell, vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. "Schools not only must meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and staff must make a commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure continued delivery of high-quality education to students."
Only 649 business schools across 43 countries and territories, or less than 5 percent worldwide, have earned this distinguished hallmark of excellence in management education. To maintain accreditation a business program must undergo a rigorous internal review every five years, demonstrating its continued commitment to 21 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programs.
"As management education adapts to changing societal and student expectations, our continuing AACSB accreditation is an affirmation of the College's relevance and quality," said Francis Bonsignore, dean of the College of Management at LIU Post. "In addition, continuing AACSB accredited status constitutes an important element of the foundation upon which the College of Management community can collectively shape its future to fulfill our mission."
LIU Post offers bachelor's degree in business administration (with concentrations in finance, marketing and international business, and management), the highly coveted Master of Business Administration degree as well as accelerated B.S./M.B.A. programs. The University also offers the J.D./M.B.A. in conjunction with Touro Law Center.
