Slide Presentation at C.W. Post:Things Fall Apart: A Series of Landscape Photographs Made in the Aftermath of Natural Disasters

Brooklyn-based artist and two-time Fulbright Scholar Sasha Bezzubov provides commentary and a slide presentation of moving photographs of the destruction caused by natural disasters in the United States, India, Indonesia and Thailand in a program depicting "the fragility of the man-made as it is transformed into dreamscapes of apocalyptic proportions."
“Things Fall Apart: A Series of Landscape Photographs Made in the Aftermath of Natural Disasters” takes place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Hillwood Commons Cinema on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, NY. A special reception follows.
Bezzubov is a two-time Fulbright Scholar recipient and his photographs have been featured in The New York Times, Esquire Magazine, Newsweek and The Village Voice. This program is part of “Focus the Nation,” a national initiative that raises awareness and encourages dialogue about the impact of global working and other environmental issues.
“Things Fall Apart” is moderated by Prof. Phyllis Kudder-Sullivan of C.W. Post’s School of Visual & Performing Arts. This event is sponsored by the C.W. Post Student Affairs-Faculty Partnership Initiative Committee (SAFPIC) and The Hutton House Lectures.
Registration is recommended. This event is free and open to the public.
