Ines Powell, Art Historian & Educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art will give a presentation about the only four women admitted to the prestigious Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture during the 18th century. Adélaïde Labille-Guiard (1749–1803), Anne Vallayer-Coster (1744–1818), and Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun (1755–1842) are three women members of the Academy who despite the odds are regularly exhibited at the biennial Salons.
