LIU_Post_Amanda_KavanaghTwenty-first century teachers and learners have access to resources that earlier generations could scarcely have imagined. New technologies are revolutionizing education, and expanding the roles of educators.

The LIU Post M.S. in Educational Technology empowers teachers to harness the power of the Web and cloud computing in their classes, and to share their knowledge with colleagues – to create learning communities where each student can achieve his or her full potential.

The 30-credit M.S. in Educational Technology is taught in blended format – part classroom, part online – which offers the best of both worlds: the face-to-face exchange of ideas in class meetings, and the convenience and flexibility of online study. The LIU Post M.S. in Educational Technology also comes at a significant savings: tuition for the program is discounted by one-third.

The program uses a cohort approach that joins 20 to 25 students who stay together from the start of the program until its completion. Students' teaching backgrounds vary, from pre-K through high school, in all disciplines and special subject areas, in special education, guidance, etc. The M.S. in Educational Technology is appropriate for teachers of any subject.

Classes meet in school settings in the Herricks Union Free School District in New Hyde Park, N.Y. and the Half Hollow Hills School District in Dix Hills, N.Y. Completion of this program satisfies New York State requirements for professional certification. For teachers who already possess professional certification, the M.S. in Educational Technology provides an additional New York State certification (Educational Technology Specialist) that will enhance career options.
