Fall 2012 Provost Distinguished Lecture Series
Going into its fifth season, the Provost Distinguished Lecture Series has become one of LIU Post's most prestigious cultural offerings – an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the community to engage with some of today's greatest minds. Established by LIU Provost Dr. Paul H. Forestell, the Lecture Series features prominent leaders and thinkers from around the world and among the LIU Post faculty who share their experiences and expertise on topics of interest to the Long Island community. Last year's lineup included acclaimed author and host of the PBS series "Saving the Ocean," Dr. Carl Safina; prominent film critic and popular culture commentator A.O. Scott; and Nobel Prize Laureate Dr. James Watson.
This lecture series is a great opportunity for us to connect as a community and garner enlightenment from leaders in their respective fields," said Dr. Forestell.
The lectures run for approximately 45 minutes with a brief question and answer period with the audience. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
