Faculty/Librarian Collaboration
Incorporating information literacy into a subject course provides an opportunity for
collaboration between the faculty and librarians.
How we can work together to make the library instruction more productive
- Collaboration between the faculty and the librarian on a research assignment.
When students have a specific assignment that is required by their professor for
the course they are taking, they have more of an interest in finding out about
library resources that will help them complete the assignment.
- Discussion of the library instruction sessions between the faculty and the
librarian prior to the library sessions.
- Attendance of faculty at all library research sessions. Unless a faculty member
attends the library sessions, students think they are not important.
