Talent Opportunities
A placement with our program is an investment in your future; particularly if you are interested in the health professions, you are guaranteed administrative experience in program planning, social marketing, health education, assessments and evaluations.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES & WORK STUDY:
UHMS invites STUDENT ACTIVITIES & WORK STUDY students to gain health experiences via placements at our site. Student will receive a well-rounded experience including, but limited to three major assignments:
- Front Desk - providing customer services, clerical support such as filing, answering high volume phones, NYS Public Health Laws & HIPPA compliance as well as on-going quality assurance projects
- Health Education campaigns via events onsite at UHMS, the main campus and our community partners. Educational programs that aid our students in developing healthy habits for life
- Perform Student Engagement activities via a variety of surveys and focus groups to ascertain students’ perspective on relevant health issues, particularly those facing college students. Student may identify issues, develop/distribute surveys, create/compile data, review outcomes and offer suggestions for addressing identified issues.
Nonpaid Internships
UHMS also offers a NONPAID INTERNSHIP for those students seeking health and medical experience. The program offers selections from a wide-variety of projects that will provide you with valuable experience in the industry. If you have a commitment to personal/professional development in the health industry, review and drop off an application with your most recent resume for an interview.
Field Placement Opportunities
Field Placements at UHMS perform a dual purpose as additional support staff while also working on relevant health education and engagement programs to promote healthy living and produce positive change within the campus community. Students seeking a unique site for implementation of their field placement can request an interview via email to bkln-uhms@liu.edu with the subject "Field Placement."
