Profiles in Success
In Their Own Words
Students and alumni talk about their experiences on the job.
“The Career Services Office was very helpful. They made me feel like they really wanted me to succeed. Right now I am interning at Deutsche Bank. I am working in legal entity control, bank regulatory reporting. They treat me like I’m a regular employee. The learning experience has been extraordinary. The financial sector is tough to get into, but with hard work, anything is possible, and I’m a living example of that.”
“For me, success is trying on different hats during my college experience. I am an Honors student, who wants to go into banking. Through the Office of Career Services, I completed internships at Donna Karan International (in finance and global licensing), Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the U.S. Department of Commerce and NYSE Euronext. These experiences will help me build my resume and will give me the competitive edge. Now that's success!”

“I currently work for Advantage Sales and Marketing, an organization that focuses on shopper sales and marketing for both Fortune 500 companies and smaller companies starting out in the US. I found a position through the Office of Career Services’ MyCareerKey website. I started as a Leadership Development Associate (LDA) at Advantage, a rotational role that taught all aspects of the company to prepare you to move into a higher position. In this role, I traveled to Las Vegas and California twice for training, and met with top executives in the company including the CEO. Recently, I was promoted to Account Manager within the Integrated Marketing department.”
