Flexible Course Schedules
Graduate classes meet primarily in the late afternoon and in the evening, with some courses offered during the weekends. A year-round schedule, including two six-week summer sessions, is offered as well. Courses are taught by working professionals who are experts in their fields and who understand the challenges of attending graduate school while meeting personal and professional obligations.

LIU Brooklyn is dedicated to the success of our students, offering a unique yet highly supportive learning environment located in the heart of the greatest city in the world. Students live together, learn together and grow together. Graduates keep their connections to the Campus and to the University, building long-lasting and rewarding relationships with their peers and with their professors.
Small Class Sizes & Academic Support
At LIU Brooklyn students are not just numbers. The average graduate class size is just 14, allowing students to easily communicate and to interact with their peers and with faculty members. Professors are more than instructors, they become professional mentors who provide our students with the personalized attention that is the hallmark of a private graduate education.
Student and Campus Life
Whether you live in one of our residence halls or you commute to campus, you will enjoy access to the new $45 million, 112,000 square-foot Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center, which provides state-of-the-art athletic facilities for students and other members of the Campus community. It features tennis courts, a running track, an eight-lane swimming pool, a therapy pool, two weight rooms, an aerobic room and a 17,000 square-foot basketball arena. Our students also like to relax in the park-like setting of the newly landscaped courtyard surrounding the world-class Kumble Theater and the Humanities Art Gallery located in the center of the Brooklyn Campus. Other key facilities include our four-story library, various student lounges, the new Cyber Café, and the historic Luntey Commons, part of the former Brooklyn Paramount Theater.
All of our students benefit from professional academic advisement, strong programs of study and a Career Services Office with a proven record of impressive placements at top corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies. Over 30,000 alumni in leadership positions who are networked across the nation, help to make this possible by lending their support as employers and as mentors. Many have gone on to become physicians and health practitioners, lawyers, senior executives, journalists, government and political leaders, scientists, business professionals and, of course, teachers and professors.
The liberal arts foundation that is offered at LIU Brooklyn enables all of our students to acquire an education that promotes the art of living, while providing the skills necessary to make a living. Field work, cultural enrichment and research opportunities are integrated with practical classroom learning to create a truly well-rounded education.
