Clinical Clearance

Prior to entry into the clinical nursing courses, students are responsible for fulfilling clinical clearance. Clinical clearance means that the student has completed and submitted the following: 

Before entry into courses with clinical components, students are responsible for providing proof of, or submitting the following: 

  • Health history and results of physical on School of Nursing form
  • Current New York State R.N. license
  • Malpractice insurance for graduate nursing students
  • Current basic life support (BCLS) certificate 
  • Fire, safety and infection control requirements within past year 
  • Current HIPPA privacy and confidentiality certificate

  • Background investigation within the past year 
  • Drug screen within the past year
