How To Apply: I-START Application Information
The Application for the 2013 I-START Program is now open.
Application Deadline: January 27, 2014.
Please note that as a candidate for the I-START Teacher Residency, you MUST complete the I-START Application AND the New York City Teaching Fellows (NYCTF) application process. You can find the New York City Teaching Fellows application here. The I-START Application can be found here.
Once you start your New York City Teaching Fellows application, you will receive communications from the NYCTF office about the status of your application and if you are invited to interview, they will reach out to you directly. Please note, you will receive separate emails from I-START and NYCTF about your standing in their respective programs.

Complete online I-START AND New York City Teaching Fellows applications.
Rolling Interviews with NYC Teaching Fellow.
December 2013 – April 2014
Rolling Interviews with I-START Selection Committee: All candidates invited to interview will receive an update regarding the status of their application within four to six weeks of their interview date.
January – May 2014
Finalists are notified and invited for interviews by participating Internationals High School principals.
March – early June 2014
Principals make offers to select finalists throughout the Spring. Final offers are made contingent upon each school site’s 2014-2015 school year budget.
Attend Internationals Network Summer Institute and I-START welcoming by LIU and Internationals.
(Dependent upon school placement) Attend school specific Professional Development.
Accepted apprentices attend an Orientation at Long Island University and complete LIU admission documents.
Apprentices officially start as DOE employees in the school apprenticeship.Apprentices officially start coursework at Long Island University.
